California

Hello Los Angeles!

I am finally in California! After telling my dad since freshman year of college that I am considering moving to Los Angeles one day, I have made it. This is for a school networking trip, but it’s a start.

I hopped off the plane at LAX (did anyone else sing that in their heads?) just before 1 p.m. and waited for my group to get off the plane. There are sixteen of us, plus Professor “G” Gershon and Dean Marlowe. Professor Morosoff will be joining us later on (Fun fact: I went to Rome with him three years ago!).

After very quickly receiving our baggage from the carousel, we loaded into our van and were off to our first order of business: In-N-Out. This was super important to me because right before the semester ended, I ate a cheeseburger and fries from Shake Shack, and I ordered the same from In-N-Out. I was determined to compare the two and weigh in on the huge battle between the rivaling burger joints.

After the highly anticipated stop at In-N-Out, we faced the LA traffic and headed to Oakwood’s AVA Apartments in Toluca Hills. The apartments seem to be recently renovated, and I really am excited to live in them for the upcoming week with my three housemates. The apartment has two rooms with two twin beds in each, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and loads of storage space. We wondered what it would be like to live here post-graduation, and quickly discovered rent would be out of our price ranges.

We finished the night with an Uber ride to and from Trader Joe’s, some unpacking and for me, blogging. Tomorrow we begin our meetings with professionals and I am excited to step into the entertainment side of the communications world.
