Buonasera Roma! I cannot believe I am in Rome right now. It is just as bustling as any other city, but something about it just makes me smile.
Pop Pop and I had a driver pick us up from the airport and take us to the apartment in which we would be staying. It is a roomy, light and open place. Upon arrival, we immediately took to the streets to find St. John’s University, which is where I will be staying while I am studying with my school. Speaking of the streets, I understand why people say not to drive in Rome. The people drive like maniacs. I am pretty sure we almost ran over five people on our way to our apartment.
We found St. John’s and then strolled to 3Quarti, the restaurant the apartment owner recommended. It was absolutely delicious. I had a 3Quarti sandwich, which is the restaurant’s specialty. It is basically three small buns filed with different options on the inside. I had tomato, cheese and tuna in mine. For dinner, I ate a pasta dish with tomatoes, olives and tuna. The restaurant was cute, the service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. Rome was already treating me well.
After dinner, Pop Pop and I headed back to our apartment and planned what we would do the next morning for our last one-on-one time together.
